TWO SCHOOLBOYS have raised £200 for the Ilkeston Stroke Club after organising a tabletop sale.
James Taylor and Ryan Parkes, both 12, arranged the event after James’ grandmother died following a stroke.
James said: “I’ve arranged a few different things since my grandma died, I just wanted to raise money for other people who have had strokes. I’m planning another event for summer.”
West Hallam resident Alan Draycott praised the Kirk Hallam Community College students. He said: “In this day and age when we hear so much about the problems caused by the youth of today it is heart warming to know that there are still young people who are prepared to do something positive to help others.”
