A Cossall schoolgirl has galloped her way into the finals of the Royal International Horse Show
Imogen Sidaway, 11, has qualified to compete at the event Hickstead at the end of July when she will be riding her six-year-old Welsh pony Gigman All That Jazz in four finals.
Imogen is a year six student at Ockbrook School and part of the school’s successful equestrian team.
She said: “Reaching the finals in one class is fantastic but to be competing in four finals is a dream. My pony Gigman All That Jazz is fantastic and we work together really well, even though I’ve only been riding him since last October.
“The qualification events took place in some fantastic settings, including riding in the grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle by kind permission of Lady Willoughby de Eresby. The journey so far has been fantastic - now it’s the finals and I can’t wait to saddle up
Alison Steele, Head Teacher, Ockbrook School, says: “This is fantastic news for Imogen and her family. The whole school will be right behind her when she competes in the finals. Her success in reaching four finals is a fantastic achievement and we hope that she continues her success at Hickstead.”
