HUNDREDS of pupils at Erewash schools will be hanging out the bunting to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Schools including Ladywood Primary, Stanley Common Primary and Dallimore Primary will be holding their very own street party celebrations to mark the sovereign’s 60 years on the throne.
Special party and dinner menus have been created by the county council’s school catering service to mark the royal anniversary and the council are also providing patriotic red, white and blue balloons as well as other decorations for the events.
Leader of Derbyshire County Council, Cllr Andrew Lewer said: “This is a truly momentous occasion – something that only comes along once in a lifetime.
“I am delighted that so many children are involved in these celebrations which I’m sure they will remember for many years to come.”
