Scooter users need a test

Sir,

Having just read the article in this week’s Advertiser about the mobility scooter crashing into the pushchair, it could have been a lot more serious.

I think that anyone, either purchasing or renting a mobility scooter, should be made to take a driving test and then, if they pass, be given a license or something similar to prove that they are fit to drive one.

I’m not saying that everyone who owns one is irresponsible, but there are quite a few who think that its funny to make you jump as they come up behind you.
