RESULTS of an audit into Erewash Borough Council’s value for money were revealed at a scrutiny meeting last week.
All six major areas were rated green, as opposed to amber or red.
Four of the smaller categories were given amber, the other 22 were green, with no reds at all.
Following the borough elections, Labour councillors refused to attend scrutiny meetings because they feel they had not been given the right assurances from the leading group after the number of scrutiny committees was cut from three to one in a bid to save cash.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Chris Corbett, said: “I really don’t understand why they refuse to turn up for scrutiny meetings.
“Attending meetings is a major part of the role of any opposition.”
