Vintage vehicles fans headed to Trowell for the annual Coppice Steam Fair at the weekend.

Organisers said the event, which has been going for 16 years, is growing in popularity. Clive Smedley, who organises the event with Alan King, said: “We have had absolutely magnificent support by local exhibitors showing various things. People are now travelling far and wide to come to the steam fair, including North Yorkshire, Wales and Scotland.

“Saturday wasn’t the nicest of days because of the weather but Sunday saw a good turnout. We would like to say thank you to everyone for attending and making it an absolutely successful weekend.”

The fair saw 270 exhibits including a new addition of working trucks. Trophies were given to each section for best presentation on the day, such as beast vintage classic tractor.

Clive added: “There are new names and faces every year. They are wonderful people who give wonderful support.

“There is a mixed batch including things that the younger generation can relate to.”

With this year’s event at an end, plans for next year’s fair are already under way.
