Weather forecasters have predicted snow, sleet and hail in patches across the East Midlands today (April 27).
The Met Office said the day will be cold with some sunny spells and showers, which will become locally heavy and prolonged as winds ease. Highs of 7°C.
A spokesman said: “These showers will potentially deliver temporary hail, sleet and snow to low levels, with some also thundery.”
Tonight slow moving heavy, wintry showers will gradually become fewer and further between during the evening, leaving a clearer, colder second half of the night with a widespread frost possible. Lows of 0°C.
Tomorrow will hold another cold start, a drier and brighter day should ensue, with sunny spells and isolated showers. It should become cloudier and breezier later on, with rain possible by evening. Highs of 9°C.
