An opticians in Ilkeston is appealing to customers to get into the Christmas spirit by donating toys for young patients for the Royal Derby Hospital.
Staff at Specsavers, on Bath Street, are collecting new toys for the Dolphin’s Children’s Ward, Royal Derby Hospital, from now until Saturday December 13.
There is a collection box in store where shoppers can drop off toys – these need to be new, boxed and ideally not wrapped in Christmas paper (soft, fluffy toys cannot be accepted). The team will then take the donations to the hospital in time for them to be handed out to the children at Christmas.
Krishna Parmar, store director at Ilkeston’s Specsavers, said: “The season of goodwill is approaching and we thought this idea was a great way to give a gift this Christmas.”
So if you are in Ilkeston in the next few weeks for an eye test or hearing test, drop in your toys.
To drop off a toy, pop in to Specsavers, 104 Bath Street, Ilkeston, call 0115 944 1401 or visit www.specsavers.co.uk/ilkeston for more information.
