CAMPAIGNERS fighting for the protection of greenbelt around the proposed Stanton development are due to grill councillors tonight.
Green Squeeze members will ask the full council at a meeting tonight what powers are at its disposal to prevent the loss of green space.
The question reads: “Can the council confirm that it values our precious grenbelt?”
The group has voiced concerns in the past about access routes to the proposed 3,000-home village cutting through Erewash countryside.
They are also due to ask the authority what steps it will take to protect communities nearby: “Can the council assure resident that the Stanton redevelopment will not be allowed to adversely affect local communities?”
See next week’s paper out Thursday for the results.
