ILKESTON record-breaker John Evans enjoyed another five minutes of fame on Saturday night when he appeared on prime time TV show Britain’s Got Talent.
Judges Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre were impressed by John’s audition where he balanced 25 giant tubs weighing 18 stone, on his head.
Third judge David Hasselhoff said he didn’t understand the act but thanks to yes votes from Amanda and Michael , Ilkeston’s favourite strongman John made it through.
John, 64, said: “I was pleased I was on. They cut quite a lot out where they were asking me questions about whether the Queen would like it and I told them she’d be impressed when I balanced a mini on my head.
“I had a laugh with the judges and Ant and Dec really liked the act.
“There’s been a great response, it’s on YouTube and by Monday morning it had already had 37,000 hits.”
John told the Advertiser earlier this month about his anger at being kicked out of the show in the semi-final stage.
