A GROUP of students from Ilkeston School were given a special opportunity to present business ideas to Derbyshire-born ocean adventurer Ellen MacArthur.
The students took part in the workshop in Leeds set up by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, which saw them consult with blue-chip companies and then present innovative ideas for businesses.
Ellen said: “The team at the foundation was extremely excited to have such an enthusiastic and engaging group of young people attend, and the atmosphere in the room was absolutely fantastic.
“The challenge set for these young people was not easy, nor was working out how to put forward their ideas around the task itself, but the outcome was exactly what we were hoping for.”
The students were among just 1,000 from across the UK to have participated in the event.
