A talented teenager looks set to become the next J. K. Rowling after getting her first book published.

Stephanie Harbon‘s publishers were so impressed with her book Ashes that it was made available to buy in big stores including WH Smith and Waterstones last week.

The 17-year-old sixth former at Ormiston Ilkeston Academy started writing the book aged just 13.

“I have been really excited about this book being published and all of my friends and family are really excited,” she said.

“Those who have read it have all said they really loved it so I hope others do too.”

Her remarkable achievement is also available to buy from website Amazon where one reviewer gave it five stars, writing: “This book is a real treat from the opening page to the last.”

Stephanie said she has already started on her second book: “I want to be as rich as J. K. Rowling,” she joked.

Head of sixth form at her school Kay Kearton said: “Here in the sixth form we would like to wish Stephanie all the best with her book sales.”
