Time to shave for fundaisers

It’s nearly time to shave off my moustache and expose my now cosy top lip to the harsh cold of winter.

As the month of Movember comes to an end, men across Ilkeston will be left questioning their choices – do I get rid of my new furry friend or am I happy looking like a Mexican bandit for the rest of my life?

We all know this won’t be a straight choice and the women in our lives will have probably already made the decision for us but for this month of the year we can stand proudly with our moustaches knowing we are doing something worthwhile.

At the start of Movember we asked for your photos from the annual charity craze which has seen thousands of men across the country leaving their top lips unshaved for a month to raise cash and awareness about male health issues such as testicular and prostate cancer.

Last week we showcased some of the local men who had been participating in Ilkeston so this week it is my turn to show the people of Ilkeston my charity effort.

Anybody who wants to donate to any of the Movember particpants we have featured then visit uk.movember.com/mospace/4319757, for Scout leader Paul Sheldon, uk.movember.com/team/857097 for the staff at Glazedale.co.uk, or search for The Manor Mo-Bro’s at uk.movember.com for staff and members of the Manor Gym in Ilkeston.

Ilkeston man Chris Smith has also been taking part and you can see his progress on his twiiter account @chrispics70.
