The time has arrived when you, the ‘Tiser readers, can vote to crown the winner in a Pet Of The Year competition backed by the paper.

We have joined forces with Chambers Pet Supplies on Bath Street and John Booth Photography, which has a studio above the store, to bring you the competition.

And what a response we have had with a staggering total of 179 entries.

Now it is your chance to choose your favourites. Grab a copy of this week’s paper (May 23 edition) for your bumper eight-page special featuring pictures of all the prized pooches, fantastic felines and even more exotic animals from a snake to bearded dragons.

Included are details on how to vote by text or by post

Alternatively you can vote at Chambers.

The eventual winner will land a giant canvas print, provided by John Booth Photography, of the top pet and a £50 voucher to spend at Chambers.

Second prize is a smaller canvas and a £30 voucher for the pet store, while third prize is also a canvas and a £20 voucher for Chambers.

Prints of the photos taken of all the entrants are also available to buy.

Tiser editor Martin Hutton said: “This has been a great competition so far and the response from everyone in the area has been outstanding.

“The partnership between the paper, Chambers and John Booth has worked brilliantly with four photo-sessions for hopefuls to attend being packed out.

“But now the competition is sure to hot up with a whole host of pets that will appeal to our readers, from loveable dogs to positively prehistoric-looking tortoises.

“Make sure you pick up a copy of the paper next week to check out all the entries .”
