Simon Cowell reveals he loves a product made by Ilkeston firm Weleda

EVER wondered how Simon Cowell manages to look so fresh-faced despite juggling such a hectic transatlantic career?

Well his secret may be down to a product made right here in Ilkeston by health and beauty firm Weleda.

Mr Cowell revealed on American national TV that he ‘just loves’ a bath milk made at the Heanor Road factory.

He told the hosts of morning chat show Live! with Regis and Kelly: “I like to wake up in a good mood.

“I think it’s important you go to sleep in a good mood, and you wake up in a good mood, so it’s a bit of a ritual where I have about five smoothies, and I watch cartoons while the bath is being run.

“The bath milk I use is by a company called Weleda – there’s no sponsorship deal – I just love it.

“It’s a lemon milk and it’s the most delicious thing. It’s not real milk – it smells of lemon but it looks like milk.”

The star, famous on both sides of the Atlantic for judging contestants on X-Factor, explained that he goes to bed very late, sometimes 5.30am.

But he has no trouble getting up just a few hours later thanks to his Ilkeston-made secret weapon.

Weleda’s commercial director Jayn Sterland said: “We had known Simon Cowell was a good customer of ours for quite some time, so it was exciting when he recommended our citrus bath milk on television because we felt we could finally tell people about our latest VIP fan.

“I admire his stamina and energy – we like to think that it’s partly down to Weleda’s products that he always looks so refreshed!”
