A tribute to the 762nd Ilkeston Charter Fair will be on display at Erewash Museum on Saturday October 18 when it celebrates fairgrounds of yesterday.

Highlights will include a steam powered showman’s engine and a traditional fairground Gavioli organ.

The Ilkeston Fair Ground Association will be displaying a whole range of interesting and amusing fairground models in the Hayloft.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for culture and leisure, said: “This is a great event for all the family so pop along and take a step back in time.”

The event is free and will be open from 11am-3pm and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

The Erewash Museum is situated in Ilkeston town centre, a short walk from the Market Place.
