A 92-year-old man has died following a car crash in Stanton-by-Dale last night.
Emergency services were called to Main Street just before 6pm after a collision between a Suzuki Wagon and VW Passat.
The man was cut from free from his car by firefighters before being treated at the scene by paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
The pensioner was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead.
Police closed the road for three hours while investigation work was carried out.
