A MAN who was fatally injured in a crash on the M1 near Trowell services at the weekend has been named.
Kelvin Cook, 29, of Nuthall, was thought to be walking along the hard shoulder between junctions 25 and 26 when a van collided with him at about 7.45am on Saturday.
Police closed the northbound carriageway for more than five hours while they investigated the incident.
Mr Cook was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.
The 56-year-old driver of the Ford Iveco van was uninjured but shaken.
Nottinghamshire Police is appealing to anyone who believes they saw Mr Cook or witnessed the crash to call the Crash Investigation Unit on 101, ext 800 2225.
