TREETOPS Hospice has been handed a cheque for £6,000 after a NatWest bank community initiative.

NatWest Community Force has donated cash to hundreds of projects across the country.

More than 450 people voted for the hospice that supports people with terminal and life limiting illnesses in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

A spokesman for the Risley-based charity said: “This award will allow us to continue to give local people the freedom to choose where they are cared for, and ultimately where they die.

“It will pay for 180 hours of Hospice at Home care. This is the equivalent of providing a nurse overnight for 20 patients, giving their spouse or carer the opportunity to get a full night’s sleep and a much needed break.”
