A MAN who threatened a taxi driver with a knife has been jailed for two years.
Raymond Hydes was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court to two years for having an offensive weapon and 18 months for affray, to be served concurrently. He pleaded guilty to both offences.
Last November, a 59-year-old taxi driver was parked at the rank in Long Eaton Market Place when he saw Hydes arguing with someone in another taxi.
Hydes approached the the driver who refused to give him a ride and got out of his taxi, the pair got into a scuffle and Hydes had a craft knife.
Police were called and Hydes, 30, of Mathews Court, Stapleford, was arrested and the knife recovered.
