University of Derby’s IT department in running for top award

The University of Derby’s Information Technology (IT) Services department has been shortlisted in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on June 17.

The University has been shortlisted for the Departmental ICT Initiative of the Year award, for a programme it delivered during 2012/13 comprising multiple projects delivering technology and services to improve the management of iMcidents, issues, maintenance, development and portfolios. The initiative has substantially enhanced the effectiveness and efficiency of IT services at the University.

Neil Williams, Director of IT Services at the University of Derby, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards. This was a challenging project, and the team worked hard to ensure it was delivered to the highest standard.

“The combined technologies and services are unique and the benefits are visible to all areas of the University. We are delighted that our achievements have been recognised nationally.”
