Crich Tramway Village is extending an invitation to Classic Ford owners to join their Classic Ford Day, which this year is on Sunday, September 8.

To celebrate over 100 years of Fords in the UK, all types of Classic Ford are invited, from traditional Anglias and Prefects to the more recent Escorts and Cortinas. There will also be club stands, trade stands, and street entertainment.

Timed vehicle parades will also feature in the event, with the Classic Fords driving though the Village’s recreated period street, weaving in and out of the vintage tram service.

A spokesperson at the venue said: “The Tramway Village creates a unique atmosphere for vehicle rallies with its recreated village street and rides on vintage trams.

“The events are always very well attended and much loved by vehicle owners. Our regulars thoroughly enjoy the day, but we would also like to extend a warm invitation to Classic Ford owners who have perhaps never participated before.”

n Crazy golf with an artistic twist will be coming to arts centre Quad in Derby later this month.

Quad Gallery will be transformed into an artist-designed indoor crazy golf course.

Artist Doug Fishbone’s Adventureland Golf is a crazy-golf styled course consisting of nine holes, each designed by some of the UK’s most celebrated contemporary artists, including: Jake and Dinos Chapman, David Shrigley, Gary Webb, Brian Griffiths, Jonathan Allen, Pete Fowler, Ian Monroe, Zatorski and Zatorski, and Doug Fishbone.

The artist-designed holes range from statements on politics and life and death, to fun challenges.

Doug Fishbone’s Adventureland Golf is suitable for anyone from experienced golfers to families, and there will be tournaments, a leader-board and prizes for the lowest score.

Quad Gallery will have extended opening hours every evening during the exhibition, for floodlit indoor late night golf, from 6pm until 8pm.

The exhibition is open daily from 11am, and 12noon on Sundays.

The exhibition kicks off with a one-off launch event, Quad’s inaugural Open Masters Non-Invitational Golf Tournament Championship Classic, taking place on Saturday, August 31, from 4pm until 8pm. Doug Fishbone and Friends: Adventureland Golf Exhibition will be at Quad Gallery from August 31 until September 15. The exhibition entrance cost (including ball, putter and scorecard) is £2 per person or £5 for a family ticket.
