Vital aid will be sent from West Hallam this week to help children thousands of miles away across the Atlantic.

Up to 150 volunteers will help the Children of Honduras Trust load much-needed goods in five extra tall 40ft long containers – the 41st year such supplies will be sent.

The aid is taken to a depot at West Hallam where volunteers work throughout the year to sort, check it and pack it.

In this ninth year of working from West Hallam, deputy mayor of Erewash, Councillor Val Custance, will visit the site on Saturday when the final and largest shipment will be sent.
