Burglars stole a large amount of jewellery from a house in West Hallam after breaking in through a back window in broad daylight.

A force spokesman said: “They got away with a 18ct gold engagement ring, a 18ct gold plain band wedding ring, a gold ring with pink and purple garnets, and a 18ct gold bracelet with a gold clasp.”
A Raymond Weil ladies’ wristwatch and a Casio watch for men were also among the items stolen along with earrings, necklaces and money.
