The following cases have been heard at Derby Magistrate’s Court in recent weeks:

. Sarah Richards, aged 29, of Rodney Way, pleaded guilty to driving above the speed limit in a 30mph zone. She was fined £70, must pay a £20 victim surcharge and court costs of £85. Her licence will be endorsed with three points.

. Malachi Lowe, aged 20, of High Holborn, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. He was fined £300, must pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 in costs. Five points will be added to his licence.

. Michael Hawley, aged 30, of Church Lane, pleaded guilty to speeding in a 30mph zone. He was fined £100 and must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Three points will be added to his licence.

. Joseph Michael Mannan, aged 20, of Keppel Court, pleaded guilty to three charged including supplying class B drug mephedrone. HE was handed a 12 month suspended sentence and must pay costs of more than £150.

. Darren Bignall, aged 29, of Kingston Avenue, pleaded guilty to two charges including assault by beating. He was jailed for 16 weeks by magistrates for the violent offence on pub staff in front of his son.

. Duane Bignall, aged 28, of Little Hallam Lane, pleaded guilty to four charges including assault by beating. He was jailed for 16 weeks for the unprovoked attack on pub staff.

. Luke Meads, aged 33, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft from shops in Ilkeston. The prolific shoplifter was jailed for 18 weeks. He also breached an order banning him from town centre shops.

. David Piekarz, aged 29, of Banister Street, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order. He was handed a community order, including 50 hours unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £180, a £60 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

. Ryan Iliffe, aged 21, of Sharps Close, Kirk Hallam, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was handed a community order which includes 120 hours unpaid work. He must pay £100 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge and £85 to the CPS.

. Russell holmes, aged 54, of Bath Street, pleaded guilty to four charges including damaging a Citreon C3 car and assault by beating. He was handed a eight week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months. He must also carry out 180 hours unpaid work and pay costs including a £150 criminal courts charge.

. Lauren Yeoman, aged 22, of Park Road, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the indication given by a no entry sign. She was fined £37, must pay a £20 victim surcharge and costs of £85. Three points will be added to her driving licence.

. George Cameron, aged 51, of Derby Road, Stanley, pleaded guilty to speeding in a 40mph zone. He was fined £200 and must pay costs totalling £105. Three points will be added to his licence.
