Wintry scene was shot 104 years ago

This delightful picture shows a snowy Cotmanhay Lodge in Heanor Road more than a century ago in 1910.

The Christmas card-like scene comes from Kathleen Pounder’s collection of Ilkeston in times gone by.

Children in the picture can be seen wearing typical attire from the era, with the boys in flat caps.

The lodge in the picture was sold by Derbyshire County Council in 2009 to fund the refurbishment of Nottingham Lodge at Shipley Country Park.

The selling price was believed to be around £170,000 and the lodge is now a three-bedroomed house.
