A 29-year-old woman has been jailed for two years for stabbing another woman in the shoulder in Chesterfield.

Emma Murtagh, of Meadow Road, Clay Cross, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Monday, April 4.

Murtagh met up with a woman who she knew and had argued with in the past.

The pair met in Rockley Close, Chesterfield, where Murtagh stabbed the 34-year-old, leaving her in need of hospital treatment, on July 1 last year.

Murtagh was ordered by the court to pay £100 victim surcharge.
