A GROUP of volunteers have been renovating the only working bridge left on the Nottingham Canal at Langley Mill.

The Erewash Canal Preservation and Development Association now works on behalf of British Waterways, which owns the canal network, including where the important canal bridge is sited at the confluence of the Erewash, Nottingham and Cromford Canals.

Mick Golds who has been in the group for 40 years said they have been mostly re-decking the bridge and doing structural work.
