Yes to 6am booze sell bid

A SHIPLEY View supermarket can now sell alcohol from 6am on the condition that it does not take early deliveries.

Neighbours had objected to the plan by the Co-op in Summerfields Way to push its opening hours back two hours because of the increased noise that early morning deliveries could have made.

One neighbour also said that the move could attract groups of youths to the store.

Councillors agreed last Tuesday to the plan, on the condition that deliveries could only be made between 8am and 8pm, that CCTV is installed and that all alcoholic spirits are kept behind the counter.
