Student photographer Joanna Dale was so inspired by an Ilkeston landmark that she chose it as the centrepiece for her latest college project.
The talented 19-year-old from Cotmanhay recruited models from neighbouring Shipley and Codnor and snapped them in front of the Grade-II listed Bennerley Viaduct, one of the town’s most familiar sights.
She was tasked by her tutors at New College Nottingham to arrange the pictures in the style of Vogue, a well-known fashion magazine.
“I’ve grown up round here,” said Joanna, who is studying towards a BTEC in photography.
“Ever since I was little I used to go on walks round the viaduct with my dad, so it’s part of my childhood, really.
“It’s quite an interesting landmark from a photographer’s point of view – really interesting to use it as composition.”
Her models were Olivia Gibson, 19, from Shipley and 18-year-old Michael Larkin, who lives in Codnor.
Joanna, who went to Jubilee House school in Stapleford and then Bilborough College, has another year left to study in Nottingham.
