WITH two 22 point wins under their belt so far this season Alvaston and Bolton are joint top of the table.
Chesterfield’s Peter Camm (52) and Alan Gofton (44) set the target for A & B at 224-7 with Yasser Tariq taking 3-39.

A&B (228-1) managed to reach their score in 50 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Anthony Woolley (138 not out) and Chris McIl
roy (75) put 215 on the first wicket earning them men of the match status.

Joint top with A&B are Sandiacre Town also with two 22 point wins so far this season. Sandiacre won the toss and wisely elected to field. Elvaston were all out for 70 in 35.2 overs. The damage was done by South African Ryan McFadyean taking 4-21 and Kevin Newbold (4-32) also recording 4 wickets. Sandiacre concluded their innings with a score of 73-1 in the 15th over.

After losing to Sandiacre last week, Spondon responded this Saturday with a 27 point win over Quarndon. The home side Quarndon won the toss and invited their visitors to defend which led to a successful innings from Spondon of 209-8. South African Warren Bell hit 37, Chris Windmill 47 not out and Dave Hartley 48 while James Dean took 3-53. Quarndon’s innings crumbled to 73 all out and Paul Cook had a return of 4-10.

Despite a maximum points win last week Ockbrook could only manage to get a draw this week against their closest rivals in the table, Lullington Park.

The visitors Lullington batted first scoring a determined 241-8 with South African Ahmed Amla hitting 72, Ben Bridgen (30) and Johnny Shales adding 36. Matt Linekar was the best of the Ockbrook bowlers taking 3-35. Ockbrook could only reach 196-8 in reply, Matt Linekar scored 37 and John Owen 35. Paul Dawson (3-56) and George Chapman (3-22) took 3 wickets a piece helping Lullington get the best of a winning draw.

Last year’s two promoted teams, Ticknall and Ilkeston, came head to head this weekend and battling it out for a draw.

Ticknall were all out for 131 with a high score from Loughborough Academy player Luke Harvey (63) and George Moulds (6-40) leading the attack for Ilkeston. In reply, Ilkeston managed only 124-9 in the 50 overs. Andy Hislop hit 42 while Ticknall’s new Pakistani signing Tanvir Ahmed took 3-31 in his first game for the club and Zach Lucas was difficult to handle claiming 4-28. More details on page 35.

Alfreton batted first notching up 256-9 with Alex Mace smashing 108, John Aspinall 47 and Chris Watt 44 not out. Dunstall’s captain Martin Clewley was outstanding recording 6-63.
