A DEPLETED Trowell soon settled and were working hard as both teams looked for the first opening.

After five minutes, Attenborough took the lead with an unfortunate own goal that looped over Ben Betts in the Trowell goal.

With Bellfield and sk
ipper Harrison in the middle pulling the strings using wide men Howling and Thompson, chances soon came for new strike partners Stocks and Craig Burton.

Both Attenborough's defence and keeper were on form though to deny Trowell with a long range effort from Stocks, a Howling free-kick and pacey runs from Burton causing them most trouble.

More gloom came Trowell's way when captain Chad Harrison limped off with a knee injury.

Trowell had to reform and during this time they went 2-0 down when defensive sloppiness and marking gave the visitors a chance which they buried despite a brilliant save from Betts.

Bellfield and Alex Burton in defence shone until half-time with no addition to the 0-2 scoreline.

Putting their mis-fortune, injuries and lack of player depth behind them, the second-half belonged to Trowell.

With the Burton brothers outstanding in both defence and attack, Trowell dominated with 100 per cent effort coming from every player.

Thompson, Dalton and Hepburn worked tirelessly upfront in different pairings to try and haul Trowell back into the game, but the visitors' defence was holding firm.

A breakthrough came when great control and a superb pass from Thompson set up Craig Burton who lifted his shot over the keeper to put Trowell back in it at 2-1.

Numerous corners, crosses and long throws were put into the visitors box, but Trowell could just not get the run of the ball.

Blend Barbers MOTM went to Alex Burton.
