MANAGER Nigel Jemson is carrying on with his job as takeover talk continued to swirl around Ilkeston Town this week.
Director David Morgan said the former Forest striker would remain in his post and any decision would be left to new owners.
And Jemson said:"I am still manager of this football club. Until told otherwise, I will carry on with my job. I sti
ll have the full backing of the board."
On Thursday, he met the players who are keen to know about the takeover and the future direction of the club, which maintained its Unibond Premier status on goal difference.
Jemson said: "I have always been open and honest with the players. I didn't want the players to hear anything from a third party. I want them to hear it from me.
"People are concerned about what is going on. People are ambitious - they want to know about the takeover and the managerial situation.
"As manager, I take my orders from the board of directors and until people think differently, I will crack on with my job."
Part of that is in fixing pre-season friendlies and three have been pencilled in with Notts County due at the New Manor Ground for a Friday evening match on July 18.
This is likely to be followed with a visit by Mansfield Town - just relegated from the Football League - coming on Tuesday July 22. The biggest draw could be the arrival of Leicester City on Wednesday July 30.
Last summer, the club received a massive boost to finances when thousands of fans came to watch Nottingham Forest and Derby County, who had just been promoted to the Premier League via a play-off triumph over West Bromwich Albion at Wembley Stadium.
Jemson said:"I am still working hard, 100 per cent for the club, as I have always done and will continue to do that until told my services are no longer required. I hope that is not the case but if it is, we will have to deal with it.
"No-one has told me otherwise from the club that I will not be in charge," said Jemson, who has just completed his second full season in the manager's chair. He began as caretaker manager when Phil Stant left the Robins in October 2005.
Because of takeover moves, he has not yet announced a retained list but pointed out that the club has an option to extend the contract of striker Adam Muller, who has scored 49 goals in just over 100 games. Talented younger players like Matt Baxter and Jordan Hunter are also signed up.
