TRINITY Boxing Club fighters will see plenty of action in the coming weeks with the diary rammed with fixtures around the country.
Championship action and an eagerly awaited home tournament at the Festival Inn on Friday, March 12 will add to that schedule, giving fans everywhere a bumper start to 2010 to look forward to.
The club is bursting with talented young boxers at both junior and senior level and they will keep busy as they prepare for another chance to showcase this on the popular fight night at the Festival Inn.
Five-time Midland Counties champion Nathan Hill will be in the senior ABA championships at welterweight which has now returned to the traditional weight of 67 kg, and after gaining invaluable experience against the country's best in the division over the last two years, Hill is poised to make a real challenge on a Midland senior title, this year due to be televised live on Hatton TV from the Tower Ballrooms, Birmingham.
Hill, 19, is due to meet last year’s Midland champion Daryl Baptiste of Lincoln next week in a match that could well be a Midland welterweight final in March.
Reece Godfrey has already been to two Midland finals as a schoolboy boxer and will be eager to gain his second title in the junior ABA championships.
Godfrey, 16, will be joined by 17-year-old Connor Pritchett who will be entering his first championship after impressing during the past year.
Also in a first championship competition will be Chloe Hemstock, 12, who will appear in the female junior AVA championships.
Chloe will be the first female boxer from Trinity to enter these championships and will be eager to emulate her mum Zoe Rafferty who won three senior national ABA championship titles and also represented England at the European Championships.
A full house is anticipated for this ticket only event at the Festival Inn so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Tickets priced £10 are now available from Scott Rafferty on 079 5656 5582, with under 16 tickets available at £5.
