Ilkeston have signed Brazilian goalkeeper Evandro Rachoni de Lima.

The 25-year-old worked with Robins head coach Gavin Strachan at Peterborough United and has most recently figured for League One side Crawley Town.

De Lima began his career in his home country with Fluminense and as well as three other Brazilian clubs has also played in Angola and the Ukraine with Arsenal Kyiv.

He told the Robins website: “After arriving in London last year I had three offers from Crawley, Oldham and Peterborough, I thought the best option was from Peterborough.

“I was there for three months until they changed the manager.”

“Gavin is a fantastic coach and I’m sure he’ll do a really good job here. I’m really pleased to work with him again and our aim is to win the league.”

The Robins begin their pre-season fixtures at home to a Peterborough United XI on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
