Barnsley have today completed the signing of Ilkeston FC defender Rhys Dolan for an undisclosed fee.
Dolan, 17, has come through the highly-renowned Robins academy setup and having been watched by scouts from several clubs in recent weeks, it is League One side Tykes who have snapped up the left-sided player.
A bid was accepted by the Robins just before Christmas for the highly-rated player, with personal terms now having been agreed. It is believed clauses related to appearances and future transfer fees have been included in the deal.
Dolan broke into the Ilkeston first team this season, making four appearances, and was also a key part of the Under-18 side that reached the third round of the FA Youth Cup before being narrowly beaten by Newcastle United.
He joins a growing list of Robins academy products to have made the move to a Football League club such as Che Adams, Ashley Hunter and Akil Wright.
