Long Eaton Swimming Club had a large number of members in action over the last two weekends at the 2012 British Gas Derbyshire ASA County Championships.
The new Arc Leisure Centre in Matlock was the venue for the first weekend and the eight-lane pool provided an excellent facility for some impressive swimming. The second weekend’s events took place at Chesterfield where the individual programme of events was completed.
Eleven-yea- old Krissy Tomlinson swept the board with 15 gold medals from all her events (see page 34) followed by 14-year-old Oliver Davidson (9), ten-year-old Katie Sloan (8), 12-year-old Elle Pryce (7), nine-year-old Madison Walker (5), 13-year-old Kay Goulden (4), 15-year-old Ryan Cendrowski (3) and two each for 11-year-old Matthew Cartwright, 14-year-old Josephine Parker, 16-year-olds Hannah Cox and Mischa Menzies, 20 and overs Elizabeth Simpson and Danny Anderson and also finishing with a gold medal was 14-year-old Hannah Jones.
The gold medal winners added even more medals to their haul, together with other top six finishes from Harriet Barker, Joshua Beech, Joshua Bestwick, Chloe Blaydon, Alexandra Brown, Lana Dilks, Erin Dilks, Hannah Dowell, Joshua Halford, Jennifer Hampson, Kye Hazleton, Joshua Langfield, Francesca Muir-Harris, Chloe Scattergood Bethany Sharples, Megan Smith,
When all the results were calculated Katie Sloan, Krissy Tomlinson and Oliver Davidson were the overall champions in their age groups.
