Duo key to White Rose success

MARTIN Bostock and Wes Essex produced fine batting performances to help West Hallam White Rose to victory over Belper Amateurs on Saturday.

Batting first, White Rose started their innings poorly before Bostock steadied the ship, finishing with an unbeaten 80.

He was joined by Essex who hit 74 to help his side finish on 241-6.

Amateurs' Jack Allen hit 58 in reply but they were all out for 164, the wickets shared between Kristian Tingle (3), Lee Barrow (3), Tom Lockhart (2) and one each for Mark Hill and Michael Noon.

The win lifted White Rose several places in Division Four North.
