Fine display sees Robins power past Duffield Dynamos

Ilkeston Town U12 4 Duffield Dynamos 1

The match started with both teams sounding out each other, without a shot at either keeper until Joel Hardy was sent through on the left wing that resulted in a goal for Town at the third attempt.

Town's keeper Joseph Spencer pulled off a point blank save from a headed corner to maintain Town's lead.

After ten minutes the lead was stretched when Jack Whitworth was on hand to fire in.

Both Conor Davies and Bijan Pakrouz where busy in midfield, while Harley Trower was on hand to tidy up at the back until complacency took over and allowed Duffield's goalscorer to move unchallenged through the midfield and defence to slot by the advancing keeper.

Soon the ball was in the Tigers goal just before half-time from Davies to make it 3-1.

But the scoreline should have been better in Town's favour as Hardy had enough chances to have picked up at least four goals but for their busy keeper.

Tigers battled at the start of the second-half, encamped in Town's half with Spencer continuing to show outstanding form in goal.

When the ball was ever given to Hardy on the left wing, Town looked like scoring.

But it was a ball through the middle that Davies raced on to and put away which sealed Town's 4-1 win to maintain their fifth spot in the league.
