Supporters of Ilkeston FC remain on tenterhooks this week as a deal to take over the club continues to drag on.
Current Robins CEO Nigel Harrop has told the Advertiser that a deal remains close to completion but that various formalities are taking time to complete.
He added that until the takeover is signed and sealed he cannot reveal many details as to who is taking the club on.
He said: “I’m as keen to get this over the line as everyone else but sometimes these things can’t be rushed and various things have to happen to make sure everyone is satisfied.
“The actual takeover process itself, namely the transfer of shares and so on, won’t take long at all, it’s some of the other necessary aspects that take time.
“I’m confident the deal will go through and that the new owners will then be able to publically declare their plans for the future of the football club, which I believe will be very positive.”
Meanwhile, the Ilkeston Football Club Supporters Group will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 24.
It will be held in the clubhouse at the New Manor Ground and will commence at 8pm.
All members are invited to attend and any newcomers wishing to join the Group will be welcome.
