Long Eaton United ladies aim to complete double

Long Eaton United Ladies will be looking to wrap up the league and cup double when they face their Mansfield Town counterparts.

They will do battle for the League Cup at Arnold Town’s ground on Sunday 22nd May.

Long Eaton ended the season unbeaten as they clinched promoted to the FA Women’s Premier League.

Manager Charlotte Healy said: “We are all so proud! We’ve found consistency and that’s been a major factor.

“Good results and performances breeds confidence and the players quickly developed a mind-set and belief that every time we set out, we were setting out to win the game.”

The ladies ended their campaign on a high with a 4-1 win over Rise Park Ladies at Grange Park.

The ladies put in a classy footballing performance against Rise, showing why they deserve to be champions.

Long Eaton were 3-0 up at half-time, with goals from Cara Newton, Precious Hamilton and Alena Moulton the game was only going to go one way.

The second half saw Rise Park pull a goal back however Hamilton soon cancelled that out with another fine finish to add to her 55 goals for the season.
