STANTON Under 14s are representing the local Lions Club in the Lions National Youth Football Competition and have made it through to the district final.
They will be taking on Leicestershire-based side Whetstone Juniors FC in a match to be played at Ilkeston’s New Manor Ground on Friday, April 22, kicking off at 1pm.
Medal presentations are scheduled to take place after the game to the victors and the winners of the match will go through to the Northern Area final, to be held on May 15, at a venue that is still to be arranged.
On the following week (May 22), the winners of the Northern Area final will play the winners of the Southern Area final to decide who will be crowned as Lions National Youth Football Competition champions in a game to be played at Nene Park, the impressive home of Conference National side Rushden and Diamonds FC.
Local Lions representatives are urging Advertiser readers to come along on April 22 and roar their local side on to victory.
