Derby County have made a new signing — 10-year-old Logan Dimmock-Fox.

He joined the Rams’ academy after coming through a six-week trial.

Logan initially attended County’s shadow squad, which provides free additional coaching to players selected from open trials or via scouts’ recommendations, before being selected for the trial.

Coaches were impressed with his consistent performance and good social and psychological attributes.

Now Logan, who attends Ockbrook School in Derbyshire, will train three times a week, working on strength and conditioning, balance, coordination and movement patterns. He will also compete in a weekly match on Sundays.

Logan said: “It’s nice to hear the coaches at Derby County tell me that I have good football abilities, and that I should be proud of myself.

“I have strong hopes that I will become a young star in the future for the Derby County first team.”

His mum, Lollita Dimmock-Fox, added: “His attitude has always been to achieve your football dream, you must work as a team.

“Logan has carried this ethos through to the pitch.”

Ockbrook head Tom Brooksby said: “He is hardworking and passionate about progressing in football.”
