Good weekend for Nutbrook

Nutbrook 1st XI travelled to Belper Meadows on Saturday.

Nutbrook batted first and, with contributions from Ben Eaton (34), Erik Croese (33) and Richard Henshaw (32), posted a score of 192-9.

In their reply, Belper found the going tough against the Nutbrook attack, with the pick of the bowlers being skipper Michael Chambers (3-23) and Aussie Erik Croese (3-25). Belper settled for the draw, finishing on 192-7.

Nutbrook 2nd XI welcomed Ashbourne 1st XI to High Lane. Ashbourne batted first and were restricted to 153 all out, thanks in the main to skipper Mark Witham who returned bowling figures of 5-25. Nutbrook in reply cruised to the target thanks to wicketkeeper-batsman John Wilson who hit 77 to ensure a emphatic win.

Nutbrook 3rd XI were looking for a win to banish relegation fears with Clowne CC the visitors. Clowne batted first and slumped to 120 all out thanks to Nutbrook bowlers Rob Gilbert 5-29 and Gary Whitehead 4-22. Nutbrook then cruised to their target with Gilbert (60 not out) and skipper Daniel Kerry (37 not out) seeing Nutbrook home.
