MCC XI to play at Stainsby

Stainsby Hall CC will be playing host to an MCC XI in a match to be played there on Tuesday, August 13.

The 50-overs-a-side game forms part of the Smalley-based club’s 150th anniversary celebrations and gets under way at 11am.

There will be a barbecue, a bar and refreshments for those attending, and all are welcome to come along to the game.

In addition, the club is to host the final of this year’s Boolers Wright Cup.

The match between Belper Meadows and Langley Mill is at Stainsby Hall CC on Sunday, August 18.

Club secretary David Brown said: “We’re looking forward to the MCC XI match and we are hoping for a good turnout from local cricket fans.

“We are also pleased to be hosting the final of the Wright Cup and it’s an honour for the club to be asked to do so.”
