Ilkeston’s former Trinity ABC star ‘Prince’ David Davis is set to fight for his first ever professional title next month.
Davis, 26, joined the professional ranks nearly four years ago and the former Derbyshire ABA champion will meet Jahmaine Smyle of Leicester for the vacant Midland area super-middleweight title on October 13.
Davis is on an unbeaten run of seven fights and has already built up a good support among Ilkeston fight fans.
The bout against Smyle is sure to be his toughest to date and will be over ten three minute rounds .
Davis, who first joined the Trinity club as a ten year old, went on to win a national title and became a big favourite with the fans with his explosive punch power.
This fight could catapult Davis into national recognition and give him the opportunity to fight for the British title.
The bout will take place at the Hermitage Leisure Centre in Whitwick , Leicester.
