Pegasus go goal crazy at Gedling
Gedling South Bank 0 Pegasus YFC Girls U12 7
PEGASUS came away with a fine win but an equally impressive team performance.
Pegasus took a quick lead through Nicole Allen and never looked back.
The second came direct from a corner delivered and scored by Leanne Taylor.
Allen made it three before half-time after strong work down the left by Annie Kane and neat lay-off from Leanne Richardson.
Taylor's performance in the centre of midfield deserved praise as she gave Pego the platform on which to build.
Fresh legs in the second-half saw Edie Power and Hannah Bloomfield make an immediate impact when Bloomfield provided for Power to make it four and dash any hopes of a GSB comeback early in the second-half.
Bloomfield flicked in for the fifth with Chloe Adlam-Butler finishing off a fine passing move to make it six before Bloomfield got her second left footed goal to make it seven.
The awesome foursome at the back, with Danielle Bird especially,
restricted GSB to very few chances and gave Jade Cox in goal a deserved clean sheet.
Lottie Smith came close late on but the GSB keeper deserved credit for keeping the score at only seven.
Another fine all round team performance and some great passing football from Pego sees them hit stride at just the right time as next week finds them in League Cup semi-final action.
Player of the Game – Leanne Taylor.
So the final whistle blew on a thoroughly entertaining game that saw Trowell the victors 4 v 2. Man of the match went to Jack Saunders who must have covered every blade of grass today and scored a great goal.
Well done lads, it was nice to see you get back to playing passing football.
