Ilkeston FC were formed just six years ago but in that time they have produced some memorable moments.

That’s particularly the case when it comes to spectacular goals, with many having graced both the New Manor Ground and stadiums around the country when the Robins were on their travels.

Advertiser sports editor Mark Duffy picks his top ten goals.

Will McCall v Goole AFC - 2011/12

The first on the list was one of the first the club ever scored. Will McCall was a tricky winger and helped the Robins begin their life in style in a 4-0 victory with a stunning volley into the top corner following a long ball over the top by Josh Hill.

Liam Green v Carlton Town - 2011/12

This was another stunner in Ilkeston’s first season from a man who didn’t get many goals at all. On this occasion he pounced on a dropping ball 30 yards out and smashed a first time volley over the Carlton keeper in a 2-0 win.

James Reid v Sheffield FC - 2011/12

Reid got a hat-trick in a 4-1 win but the best of the bunch was a stunning effort from 35 yards which gave the keeper no chance.

Matt Richards v Stocksbridge PS - 2011/12

The Robins walked this game 6-1 but the highlight was this goal from Matt Richards. Receiving the ball 35 yards out he took it forward a little before unleashing a powerful effort into the roof of the net.

James Reid v Matlock Town - 2012/13

Another entry from Reid, this time in the Derbyshire Senior Cup final as in the 89th minute he receives the ball, turns a defender and hammers a 30-yarder in off the post. He won the game from the penalty spot a minute later.

Laurie Wilson v Blyth Spartans - 2013/14

There seemed little on when the ball dropped to Wilson just three yards inside his own half at Blyth Spartans, but with the keeper off his line the midfielder hit a half volley from the centre-circle straight over his head and into the corner of the net. It was perfection.

Jack Lane v Witton Albion - 2014/15

Jack Lane was a centre-half making his Robins debut on the opening day of the season. He introduced himself by smashing a 35-yard left footed effort into the top corner in a 4-1 victory.

Che Adams v Ashton Utd - 2014/15

Adams was just a month away from joining Sheffield United and this goal showed why. Picking the ball up on the touchline in his own half, he beat one man then used strength and power to get to the penalty area where danced between two more players before finishing with style

Che Adams v FC United of Manchester - 2014/15

Two weeks later Adams was at it again. This time, Ilkeston cleared a corner to Adams midway inside his own half and he beat one man before again powering his way towards the United goal and finishing superbly under the goalkeeper.

Callum Chettle v Skelmersdale - 2014/15

Another young talent with another great goal. Receiving a throw in 40 yards out, he rolled a defender before executing a finish of perfection from distance that gave the keeper no chance.
