Striker Shane Newton hit a fine hat trick to ensure the Robins beat local rivals in the fourth round of the West Midlands League Cup at Coronation Park.
But the victory was set in motion as early as the sixth minute when Anthony Faye scored a delightful goal, lobbing the ball over the advancing keeper from a range of 30 yards.
An incisive move ended with Newton's clinical finish in the 26th minute, when he left the goalie with no chance by tucking a shot into the far bottom corner of the net.
Manager Andy Worrall felt his side needed another goal and that arrived after the interval when Newton found space around the edge of the penalty area. From a range of 18 yards, he lifted a shot into the top corner.
Newton completed a good day's work when he headed home a cross by Scott Fisher with 15 minutes to go.
The match also enabled Jimmy Ainsworth to step up from the under-19 side and get a useful stint on the pitch. During that time, Gerry Moran combined well with Billy Nugent, who rounded the keeper to score in the final few minutes.

A little bit of psychology worked out badly for Willington - when they paraded the League Cup before the Robins' reserves.
The shining trophy might have deterred the visitors by reminding them of the night they lost on penalties in the final, but it had the reverse effect and got them revved up for action.
This Midlands Regional Alliance clash was even until just before the break. Suddenly in-form Shane Newton found himself with just the keeper to beat and Ilkeston were in front.
In the second half, Ilkeston were attacking down the slope and Kevin Fowler scored after 55 minutes. From the edge of the penalty area, he lashed the ball into a top corner.
The third goal arrived in 63 minutes after a neat exchange of passes between Adam Campbell and Anthony Faye on the left. Faye floored the accelerator and raced past the last defender before slotting the ball home.
After Newton was injured, Ashley Buxton got involved in the action and scored within ten seconds. The ball bounced around the crowded penalty area until the substitute whacked it into the roof of the net in the 68th minute.
With ten minutes left, right back Derek Dooley knocked a free kick to the far post where it was headed back by Buxton. Defender Liam Wild slotted it into the empty net.
