Raceline: Tip of the day 7th February

Three interesting cards today at Doncaster, Taunton and also Huntingdon, where there is a cracking juvenile hurdle. Here is the latest selection from our resident tipster:

Thursday 7th February

PINE CREEK

Doncaster 4.05 WIN

The son of a King George winner (Doyen) and trained by the legendary Andre Fabre on the Flat where he was good enough to finish third in a Listed race. It all sounds too good to be true for an ordinary novices’ hurdle at Doncaster on a cold February afternoon. But the added bonus with this five-year-old, now in the care of John Ferguson at Newmarket, is that he has taken to timber-topping with aplomb. After a promising third on his debut, when he finished behind two subsequent winners, he cantered to victory at Leicester last time under a tight rein. Likely to have improved again since then, his class can safely defy today’s 7lb penalty on a speed track sure to suit.

YESTERDAY: EDUARD WON
